TATTOO REMOVAL – FAQS

How tattoo removal works is one of the most frequently asked questions we get at Erazalaser® Clinics along with the number of treatments required. We have answered the top most frequently asked questions below:

Erazalaser® Clinics use the latest lasers which remove the tattoo by breaking the ink into smaller particles which are then absorbed and expelled by your body’s immune system.

There are no two tattoos that are exactly alike and we understand that you may wish to carefully  consider your decision to remove your unwanted ink. At your FREE consult your tattoo removalist will carefully assess your skin type, evaluate your tattoo and develop a specific plan for your removal which will be both effective and economical for you.

Yes! Black and red inks respond more quickly to laser tattoo removal and require less treatment sessions than do the green, aqua and yellow ink colours.

There are a number of factors to be considered such as the age of the tattoo, the ink colour, placement of the tattoo and whether you are seeking complete removal or fading for a new tattoo. As a guide, professionally applied tattoos can take up to 10 treatments for complete removal, whereas a cover-up removal may only require 3 – 4 treatments
As the laser works to break up the ink into smaller particles so that your body can absorb and expel the smaller ink particles, it depends on how quickly your body reacts. For most clients we schedule laser removal session in 6 weeks intervals. Your tattoo removalist will discuss your individual plan with you at your initial consultation
Yes! Should you wish to have a new tattoo or just require a cover-up Erazalaser® Clinic will work with your tattooist to remove or fade only those areas necessary to get the best result for your new ink.

It is normal for the treated area to be slightly swollen and raised and you will see white frosting on the areas treated by the laser. You can also experience areas of pin-point bleeding, however your tattoo removalist will apply antiseptic powder and a dressing to the treated area.

When treated by a dedicated tattoo removalist you should experience no visible scarring. Some clients may experience mild scarring despite best treatment practices and this can occur in less than 1 % of cases. Clients with darker skin and those prone to keloid scarring are at greater risk. Your tattoo removalist will discuss this with you at your initial consultation.
When done by a skilled tattoo removalist the procedure is less painful than getting the tattoo. Our clients say that it is a bit like the sting of a rubber band. In overly sensitive areas you may use a numbing cream. Your dedicated tattoo removalist will discuss this with you at your initial consultation.
Erazalaser® Clinics charge for laser tattoo removal based on the size of the tattoo, number of sessions required and whether you want complete removal or fading for a cover-up. Prices start from $115 for a small tattoo
It is very important that you strictly follow the advice of your tattoo removalist after any laser treatment to ensure the procedure is effective and to reduce the risk of complications. Erazalaser® Clinics provide you with detailed instructions in our very informative Aftercare for Laser Tattoo Removal flyer.
